Whoosh!  Tony Dovolonis, Jonathan Roberts —the Stars of the show Dancing with the Stars reviewing  the  Icons of  Music in the Fred Astaire dance review on stage at the Sarasota Opera House Theater, Saturday, October 2, celebrating their 35 years.

“We showcase our students and professionals in a theatrical production twice a year,” says Enrique Curi, who has owned and developed the Bee Ridge Studio since its inception in 2002.  LET US ENTERTAIN YOU” features music associated with screen sirens, matinee idols, and the bad boys and girls of the movies.  It’s a high-spirited dance experience—the best of theatrical dancing—in a benefit performance for  AMERICAN RED CROSS.”

The choreographer Giuseppe “JOE” Trovato has developed routines reminiscent of the greats, combining celluloid stars and characters from legend Elvis Presley to the new Icon Lady Ga-Ga .                “It’s exciting to be working with a choreographer of Trovato’s stature,” says Meredith Kaplan, a  Fred Astaire student who has won many competitive ballroom events.  Kaplan’s participation in LET US ENTERTAIN YOU includes a solo with her instructor, Tim Pennenga. “Trovato has fresh new ideas, interweaving  our ballroom dance technique with Contemporary music and flair.  And he works primarily with instructors and champion dancers from around the world.  We’re so lucky to have him here in Sarasota.”Studio manager Curi emphasizes that the showcase review is for good fun as well as a good cause.  “We learned more about the needs of AMERICAN RED CROSS”.The curtain comes up on LET US ENTERTAIN YOU on  Saturday, October 2, at 7:30 pm at the Sarasota Opera House Theater, 61 North Pineapple Avenue- Sarasota.  General admission seating is  $20.00.  For information and reservations, call the Fred Astaire Dance Studio at 921-6651.
